Step by step, cosmetics are coming nearer and nearer to this dream – with each new insight, each new, even more efficient ingredient, and each innovative method. The new magic word when it comes to care is “dermo-cosmetics”, denoting dermatologically meaningful and scientifically sound active cosmetics: an ideal combination of medical knowledge and cosmetics competence. Or, as one official definition is formulated (source: Society for Dermopharmacy): cosmetic products, “… the purpose of application of which is achieved under mutual consideration of dermatological and pharmaceutical aspects.” Further characteristics are a thorough skin analysis, and a personal treatment plan drawn up by a competent beauty therapist.
