This was Sebastian Kneipp’s own high comment on this medicinal plant. For him Arnica was THE medicinal plant of choice.

The Arnica plant is one of the best-known natural remedies worldwide. The Arnica, which is divided into 32 species and 18 subspecies, can be found at the Northen America West coast, but also in Greenland, Europe and Siberia.

The “Arnica Montana” has been revered for centuries. Eiropeans and Native Americans, who referred to Arnica as mountain daisy and leopard’s bane, used it for sprains, bruises and wounds. It grows on mountain sides at altitudes of 2500-5000 feet. Arnica blossoms contain essential oils and have an anti-inflammatory effect. Due to this, Arnica blossom is used in both pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
